GYWA Hosting Public Webinar Event Exploring Deeply Flawed Gallatin Forest Partnership Agreement and its Ecologically Sound Alternative
Friday, April 8, 2022 @ 6:30 Mountain Time
Join the Gallatin Yellowstone Wilderness Alliance (GYWA) for a public webinar event where we will be discussing the deeply flawed Gallatin Forest Partnership Agreement (GFPA) sponsored by the Wilderness Society, Wild Montana, Greater Yellowstone Coalition, Winter Wildlands Alliance and other organizations operating in the Northern Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. The GFPA was celebrated by the Custer-Gallatin National Forest as part of an attempt to manufacture consent among the public, highlighting the dangerously skewed and compromised process of “collaboration” that favors industry and marginalizes wilderness and wildlife.
Introduction: Dr. Joseph Scalia III, GYWA President, will pinpoint and discuss the differing visions and ideologies of the mainstream and grassroots environmental movements.
Keynote: Mike Bader, Independent Consultant, on his troubling new report on the GFPA Wildgrounds to Playgrounds.
Public Q+A Session to Follow Presentations
The GFPA is an industrial development Trojan horse and the public has a right to be informed about its implications and how the organizations that once worked to protect wilderness have fallen from grace.
But is there really an alternative? We say there is. Join us to learn about the case for a Braver Environmentalism and a Braver Humanity. Please consider attending to learn and be informed!
The Gallatin Yellowstone Wilderness Alliance is laying out a new vision for protecting an additional 1.15 million acres of federally designated Wilderness in the Northern Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. To take such a bold step will require not only rigorous and critical thinking, but also the restoration of a fearless voice from the environmental movement. Join us in safeguarding this globally significant and unique ecosystem. We only have one shot at getting this right…
